Varsa

Over the years, Varsa has become a recognizable part of the scenery in Doma. He is most often seen panhandling and collecting discarded metal scraps, and, occasionally, tending to sick or injured creatures in the countryside. He walks with a pronounced limp, appears to be at least in his fifties, and is never seen traveling without a gnarled wooden staff.
Locals seem to know very little about him, but his passive demeanor and advancing age have endeared him enough to nearby residents that he is kept fed and clothed by a few kindhearted individuals. Depending on whom you ask, Varsa is either a veteran war hero or a criminal, a refugee or a down-on-his-luck tradesman; his identity is crafted solely by the one speaking of him, as Varsa himself has not been heard to speak a word for many years.

Let me know if any of the following places/themes might apply to your character - these are kept vague on purpose so we can build on something together!

-Bozja
-Doma and/or Kugane
-Your character is military-affiliated (not limited to Bozjan)
-Your character is currently in the Far East and is injured/seeking a healer

- IC =/= OOC
- I prefer short form replies in-game and longer descriptions out of game (Discord, Docs, etc.)
- I prefer to RP with an older crowd (I'm in my early 30s)
- Dark themes are welcome, as long as it's not to be "edgy for the sake of edgy"
- Your character is welcome to interact with Varsa in any way whatsoever, whether positive or negative. Both are fun to me 😊
-I work full-time so my schedule is unfortunately quite limited to evenings (EST) and weekends

Borik was born an only child in a Bozjan slum. An imperial initiative afforded him the opportunity to receive an education, and through hard work Borik won a scholarship to attend a prestigious university at the imperial capital. There, he studied the medical sciences, and his academic achievements saw him conscripted into the imperial army to serve as a medic, a career which in turn earned him the rights of citizenship. Such status allowed him the opportunity to marry and start a small family.Following the Bozjan Incident, like many others, Borik escaped the military to join the Resistance. It was for this new cause that he would conduct exchanges with the Hingashi bakufu with the goal of learning healing magicks. Thus, with much perseverance, the hrothgar was able to supplement his medical knowledge with the art of geomancy. After returning to fight for Bozja, Borik suffered a traumatic brain injury, and was held as a prisoner of war for several days. Due to the extended period of time without treatment, Borik's head injury would leave him permanently disabled. The hrothgar was rescued by a Resistance group, but was never able to reunite with his family. He continues to suffer significant deficits in cognitive ability, including memory retention, but amazingly is still able to practice fairly high-level geomancy.Unable to give his name to those who ask, the locals of his new home have taken to calling him Varsa, after a legendary hrothgar folk hero of the same name.
